Honey Blocks and Sniffer Eggs Can No Longer Be Read Through by Comparators


In the latest beta version 26.50.25, changes were made that removed the ability for comparators to detect containers through honey blocks, sniffer eggs, and chains (the chain issue has already been reported separately). This directly breaks many existing redstone contraptions that rely on these blocks as transparent, signal-conductive intermediaries for container detection. This behavior is a regression from previous versions and should be reverted to maintain functionality of established builds.

The impact of this change is significant, affecting numerous redstone designs across the Bedrock technical community. The chain-related aspect has already been reported separately, and the honey block and sniffer egg issues warrant equal attention. Since these blocks were previously usable as comparator-transparent intermediaries with no indication this was unintended, restoring the prior behavior is critical to maintain design compatibility and avoid frustrating players who rely on these mechanics.

    I very strongly hope that these changes can be reverted. They have almost ruined many machines in my Minecraft world. Keeping the original features is the best, and I request that no modifications be made.

    The changes to honey blocks and chains have practically destroyed 80% of the shulker box packing machines in Bedrock Edition.We want it to stay as it is - this really matters to us，If you can see this, we'd really appreciate it if you could vote.

    If Minecraft Bedrock Edition does not listen to player feedback and removes these beneficial bugs instead of preserving them, then the majority of players will likely abandon Bedrock Edition and switch to Minecraft Java Edition. Your carefully prepared marketplace bundles may then go largely unpurchased. Minecraft Java Edition is relatively open; its developers listen to player suggestions and retain useful bugs, which is precisely why it is so well-liked. Please keep the ability to use a comparator to detect containers placed behind iron chains, honey blocks, and sniffer eggs.

    This change is extremely unfriendly to Bedrock Edition players, especially those who play survival circuits in Bedrock Edition, and if it occurs, it will severely disrupt the existing survival circuit systems.

    This has a great impact on players in the Bedrock version of Redstone. If you modify it, you should make corresponding modifications when it first comes out, rather than destroying the technology tree after the player has developed a technology tree. Please retreat and modify it.
