When you are making your redstone suggestions, please note that Java and Bedrock will not have the exact same the same redstone systems - this would require redoing redstone system completely on one platform or the other. The two systems are functionally different and are going to stay that way. Please be sure to tag your suggestions with (Java) or (Bedrock).

From a technical and analytical view, there does not appear to be any real benefit to fixing this "bug" in the first place. There is no real harm from the "bug" and the community has devised numerous contraptions/uses around this "bug" that would not be possible otherwise as the ability to capture the player's camera rotational data is not achievable in native Minecraft without this feature. Removing this feature would severely crush all these machines/purposes along with the growing community and ingenuity surrounding it, doing so with no actual gain in return. On another note, although this is speculation as the "patch" is not publicly available yet as of writing this, I anticipate that "fixing" this "bug" would also be detrimental on a computational level. Simply copying the player's rotation/forward vector for projectile bounces is significantly cheaper than having to calculate the physics and proper reflection vector for the bounce. I am hard pressed to think of a "solution" to this "bug" that would not be more computationally expensive than what is already there. Therefore, I see this "patch" as not only making the game perform worse with extra unnecessary calculations, but also actively stifling both the redstone and creative communities of the Minecraft fandom. I heavily advise reconsidering the decision to go against this feature and to perform a better technical and relational analysis in the hopes of realizing the greater benefits of marking report MC-101770 as WAI

Agree, this isn't going to affect the majority of players, and only limits technical players. It was a useful technology that didn't give any particular unfair advantages to players who used it. Or at least consider the other comment about giving an alternative; this kind of technology is really cool to see and play with, losing it entirely would be a massive blow.

This "Bug" has sparked the creativity of so many redstone builders, fixing it now after 10 years wipes out a whole section of special engineering skill in the redstone community. Please don't. Let us have fun.

    Totally agree with this!
Having a functionality like this in the game wont affect 99% of players.
I dont see why this could be harmful.

Please leave this cool mechanic in the game

MC-101770 does not affect a majority of players. Fixing it will not improve the game in any way. Meanwhile, removing it will massively affect the players that do actually care about and use it. It has sparked so much creativity... Isn't that what Minecraft is about? This fix poses no benefits and simply goes against everything that Minecraft stands for, please reconsider and revert the "fix".

I just finished making a cannon that shoots ghast fireballs. This change will completely break it. Because of this and the changes to arrows in 26.40 I can only assume that Mojang is working on some update to archery.

Looks like the change has for now been reverted, but I would encourage Mojang to mark this as Works As Intended so future redstoners don't need to worry about whether this will remain in the game.

While it isn't the most intuitive mechanic, once you see it once it is pretty understandable, and can be used to the player's advantage in PVP / PVE.

The potential of this mechanic in redstone is absolutely insane. Being able to have effective mouse-tracking allows a lot of really cool redstone user interfaces (aiming a cannon, selecting a square in a redstone game, activating devices remotely). Allowing the community to utilize niche mechanics in these insanely creative ways is what makes Minecraft one of the best sandbox games of all time.

Removing this doesn't really affect the causal playerbase at all and takes out a really cool mechanic for enfranchised players, please mark this as Works As Intended.

PLEASE DON'T DO THIS, MOJANG. I know you're just trying to help, but the community relies on so many obscure mechanics that might look like bugs to you. I'm speaking from the perspective of the Java community here. Those "bugs" you fixed aren't actually bugs. Please check how we use them before fixing them... Even if you look at https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC, you can see there are plenty of newer bugs we'd rather see fixed than the ones that have essentially become features.
