Managing large storage systems is tedious across both Java and Bedrock editions. Players waste hours manually organizing containers instead of building or playing.
PROPOSED SOLUTION:
Add a sorting feature for chests, shulker boxes, and all containers with these options:
• Alphabetical (A-Z) — quick item lookup
• Item Type — blocks, tools, redstone, food, enchanted items, etc.
• Custom Order — drag-to-arrange for personal preference
• Stack Size — organize by quantity
WHY THIS MATTERS:
Java players: Modded servers already have sorting (Sophisticated Storage, etc.); vanilla needs parity.
Bedrock players: No mod options on Realms or console—stuck manually sorting forever.
All players: Creative builders juggle hundreds of block types; survival bases have 50+ containers.
CROSS-EDITION BENEFIT:
Standardizing this across Java AND Bedrock shows Mojang prioritizes uniform player experience. Mods prove this is technically sound without breaking vanilla balance.
This isn't about easier gameplay—it's about removing busywork so players focus on building and adventuring.
