While concrete, wool, and terracotta offer great building choices, players are limited to 16 standard dye colors. Soft pastels, rich dark shades, and warm off-whites are currently impossible in vanilla Minecraft without custom resource packs.
We propose a new building material—Plaster—featuring dynamic color mixing!
Key Features:
1. Raw Plaster: Crafted from Sand, Clay, and Bone Meal. Serves as a neutral, matte off-white canvas block.
2. Dynamic Color Mixing: Using NBT color data (similar to Leather Armor dyeing), Plaster unlocks millions of custom shades:
Add Bone Meal to brighten colors into soft pastels.
Add Ink Sacs / Charcoal to darken into rich tones.
Combine primary dyes for exact custom hues.
3. Texture Variations: Right-click with a Trowel tool to cycle through 4 structural finishes:
Smooth: Seamless and flat for modern interiors.
Rough: Grainy texture for weathered exterior walls.
Polished Stucco: Subtle sheen near light sources.
Scratched: Fine grooved accent texture.
4. Builder Tools:
Paintbrush: Shift-Right-Click to sample a color; Right-Click to recolor placed Plaster instantly without breaking it.
Wet Sponge: Washes off dye to reset Plaster to neutral.
Why Vanilla?
It grants builders total palette freedom without cluttering creative menus or survival inventories with hundreds of individual block items!
