Minecraft definitely needs to upgrade the beaches to make them feel more immersive and relaxing.
Palm Trees: New wood type, grow coconuts to eat. Tree has 5% chance for coconuts to drop. If a player is standing beneath the tree when a coconut is falling, it will deal damage,
Waves: An ambient feature, makes relaxing sounds.
Wet Sand: a new block for building, makes the sand near and under the water look more realistic. makes squelching noises when stepped on, doesn't fall to gravity, water can be evaporated like wet sponges. Turtles laying eggs on wet sand hatch faster.
Hermit Crabs: Passive mobs that walk along wet sand. If shell is within a 10 block radius from the hermit crab, has a 10% chance to exit current shell and go to that different one. Can be picked up in buckets.
Seagulls: Neutral/playful mobs that dive for fish. If you hold food in your main hand without crouching, they might swoop down and steal a single piece from your stack.
Driftwood: A driftwood for every wood type, but a duller and less bright version.
Message in a Bottle: Has a 2% to wash up on shore, containing buried treasure maps. Placeable.
Sea Shells and Conch Shells: A variety of shells, that can be placed (nautilus shell is now placeable). Conch shell is like goat horn and can be blown to make music.
Bucket of (Wet) Sand/Sandcastle: You can scoop wet sand into a bucket and can be placed on other wet sand and a sandcastle would be built.
Lighthouse: Has reflector lens inside to reflect sunlight to blind mobs.
