Following up on the idea of using Beacons for base defense in multiplayer (SMP/Faction) servers: to prevent griefers from abusing this feature to permanently slow down innocent players in public areas, I propose a balanced "Fuel/Activation" mechanic using Slime Blocks.
How the Defensive Mechanic Works:Selectable Secondary Effect: Players can select Mining Fatigue at a fully powered (Tier 4) Beacon pyramid.Slime block is needed To activate this defensive mode, the owner must place a Slime Block (or Honey Block) into the Beacon's UI slot.
3-Minute Duration: Each Slime Block consumed powers the defensive area for exactly 3 minutes. During this time, any unauthorized player inside the radius receives a 3-second Mining Fatigue effect that constantly refreshes.Automation-Friendly: Players can use hoppers to feed Slime Blocks into the beacon, allowing long-term base defense for active teams, while abandoned or griefed beacons will naturally run out of fuel and shut down quickly.this can prevents trolling: Griefers cannot leave a permanent "mining slow-down zone" around spawn or public roads because the effect automatically expires after 3 minutes without constant fuel.Resource Sink for Slime/Honey: It gives mid-to-late game players a fantastic new use for their automated Slime or Bee farms.Strategic Raiding: In an SMP raid, attackers can now strategize to wait out the 3-minute defense window if they manage to cut off the base's hopper automation line.
