Many new players never finish Minecraft because the path to the End can be confusing. The early game is already well designed, but once players enter the Nether, progression becomes much less intuitive.
1. Nether Fortress Compass
Add a special compass that only works in the Nether and points toward the nearest Nether Fortress.
It could be crafted using a regular compass, four gold ingots placed around it, and four magma cream in the remaining slots.
This would make finding a Nether Fortress much easier, preventing players from wandering thousands of blocks without finding one and making progression feel more natural.
2. Stronghold Update
Strongholds are one of the most important structures in Minecraft, yet they are completely hidden underground. Many players end up digging around randomly to find them.
I suggest changing Stronghold generation so that part of the structure reaches the surface, or at least leaves a visible landmark above ground, similar to how Lush Caves and Sulfur Caves biomes have surface indicators.
This would make progression much clearer for new players.
Additionally, Strongholds and Nether fortress themselves could receive an update to make exploring them more engaging and rewarding.
These relatively small changes would also create a solid foundation for the End update that many players have been hoping for.
