Implementing Glare (Mob Vote 2021) and Its Helpful Spectral Field Effect

    I think the “glowing” idea is a really good one! The lush caves are supposed to be a little oasis, so this helps them be safer while not just being hostile-mob free.

    I also like that you can’t tame them. I feel pets should mostly stick to realistic animals. And they leave because they are “grumpy” gives character to them.

    One interesting idea would be if the glare isn’t a mob at all, but a block. There would be various “glare dens” around the lush caves, and the glare would be able to occupy one block at a time, staying at the block closest to you if it is “trusting” you.

    Could be a fun Adam’s Family “Thing” type of situation. It peeks out of one den, ducks back in, then peeks out again of another without traveling somehow.

    This could also add personality, make its true shape unknown (you only see the eyes), and make it that you could even move glares around by moving glare den blocks.

    Of course, they would keep your “glowing” functionality and would only do so if consistently fed to keep them balanced. Maybe they would only work in cave biomes?

    Anyway, a fun and smart rework idea!
