Minecraft’s oceans are beautiful and filled with unique structures like Ocean Monuments, Ocean Ruins, Shipwrecks, and underwater caves. However, underwater exploration can sometimes feel limited compared to exploring on land.
I suggest allowing players to tame and ride dolphins, giving them a unique role as ocean exploration companions. Tamed dolphins could use an Aquatic Saddle that creates a temporary air bubble around the rider, making longer underwater expeditions possible without removing the need to manage oxygen.
Dolphins would still behave naturally. They would need to breathe and gradually become less effective if they remain underwater for too long, encouraging players to plan their dives instead of staying submerged indefinitely.
This feature could also be expanded with optional equipment, such as a diving mask to improve a dolphin’s underwater endurance or a small storage chest for carrying supplies.
Rather than replacing boats, potions, or enchantments, this feature would introduce a fun and balanced way to explore Minecraft’s oceans while giving dolphins a meaningful purpose and encouraging players to spend more time discovering underwater structures.
