Age Verification and Chat Unlocking are both awful

Absolutely awful implementation, followed the instructions to a T and it still refuses to change.
I have spent more time trying to fix this issue than playing the game itself.
My account is old is almost old enough to buy alcohol, of course I am above age.

    The issue were that the privacy settings, even after pressing submit, keep resetting to their defaults.
    I have had to change them three separate times now, ensuring I select submit, and nothing.

    Five times, and I had minecraft crash on me whilst logging out and back in two times.

    I give up, I spent over an hour trying to fix it;

    All the things I attempted:
    - Deleting cookies
    - Using incognito mode
    - Logging in and out of my accounts repeatedly
    - Logging in and out of Minecraft
    - Restarting my Computer
    - Ensuring my family settings weren't interfering

    Mojang, please fix.
    ALSO WHERE'S THE MODDING API?!

    At least there's no mod that you can install to bypass the chat restrictions and other people whom stumble across this thread shouldn't try googling for one.
