Hello Mojang.
I am a Paleontology enthusiast, and I recently finished reconstructing Minecraft's current fossils. It was hard, like early paleontology was in the real world. However, I feel that Minecraft's fossils could use an update.
See, the real world has many fossils that tell us about the ancient past. We had to piece it together over the course of two hundred years. Similarly, in Minecraft we've been piecing together the past based on Minecraft's existing structures. We can trace it back by thousands of years, but what about before that?
Adding more fossils to Minecraft would make the world feel more ancient and alive.
What I propose is a new ore called Fossil Ore that can drop different kinds of fossils with their own varieties, including:
Skulls (small, medium, large)
Spines (small, medium, large)
Arms (small, medium, large)
Claws (short, long)
Spikes (short, long)
Fossil Scutes
Shells (straight, spiral, twisted)
Teeth (flat, sharp)
Wings
Footprints (small, medium, large)
Skin Impression (scales, feathers, fur)
Fish (small, medium, large)
Insects (small, medium, large)
These fossils would be placeable and could be used as decoration for museums, or some players could try to assemble them into plausible living things from Minecraft's prehistoric past. I know it seems like a lot of items and models to add, but take comfort in the fact that they wouldn't need to have any real function outside of what they look like.
I hope you add these fossils and fossil ore to make the world much older.
