Enchantment husk or reminant

An object or enchant that attaches to your armor or tool and in case they break keeps a husk or shell of that tool. The shell or husk is devoid of functionality by itself but allows you to restore your item with the enchants it has provided enough of the material that crafts that tool. I was think it would be something a item obtain from the deep dark based on the schulk ability to spread and infect.
