Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Ruby Basalt Ore

This mod adds basalt ruby ore, which spawns in the basalt delta biome of the nether. Mining it with an iron pickaxe or higher will yield 1 to 5 rubies. Rubies can be split into 16 shards that can be thrown. If a shard hits a target, it will inflict a "cursed mark" effect on the mob, causing the enemy to take double damage. Ruby blocks can also be crafted. Using a ruby in an enchantment table will inevitably result in a curse instead of an enchantment.

another idea for a ruby would be ruby world in the overworld. Rubies were in Minecraft, but then they were replaced by emeralds. it would be like emeralds but rarer and make good armor and tools. btw I liked the post also.
