Minecraft relies heavily on hostile mobs for danger. Adding an optional "Earthquakes" toggle during world creation (disabled by default) would introduce exciting environmental challenges without changing the classic experience for everyone else.
When enabled, earthquakes would occasionally occur, shifting the survival focus from combat to environmental awareness.
How it could work:
Variable Intensity: Random minor or major tremors shaking the world.
Tectonic Cave Shifts: Instead of standard gravity-based collapses, tectonic blocks could shift to close up cave passages, creating a unique "crushing" hazard you must escape.
Immersive Villages: Villagers could panic and run indoors during tremors, making the world feel more alive.
Engineering Focus: Players would have new reasons to design structurally sound bases and choose safer building locations.
This feature would encourage players to think like engineers rather than just fighters. Thank you for considering this idea!
