The copper anvil should also deal less attack damage when it lands, dealing 1 attack damage per block fallen for a maximum of 20 attack damage, but the copper anvil will get cracked at a formula of: (the chance of cracking by one stage is 10% × the number of blocks fallen). However, it has some more benefits and disadvantages to further balance:

    • Benefit: Final XP costs from copper anvils are seen as half of the normally calculated XP costs (rounded down before the final costs appear).
    • Benefit: An item's RepairCost value from usage of copper anvils has only a 50% chance to rise, instead of 100% chance like normal anvils.
    • Disadvantage: Once costs reach 20 levels or more, Too Expensive appears unless the player is able to pay a number of copper ingots to do the operation. Copper ingot costs depend on how many times the item has been worked on before.
    • Disadvantage: Only a maximum of 3 enchantments can be added to items from enchanted books via the copper anvil.
