I think structures greatly reduce the difficulty of the early game in Minecraft.
That's cool for new players or people who are looking for a chill experience. However, I think players who want a greater challenge should also have another option.
One possible solution would be making structures extremely hard to find in a Minecraft world to prevent players taking advantage of them during the early game, without removing them entirely. This would also increase the value of structures and the resources they contain.
Finding a village, temple, or ruined portal would feel much more rewarding because they would become rare discoveries instead of something players expect to find within the first few minutes of a new world.
It seems to me that this could be done by adding a new option to the "Generate Structures" setting. Instead of only having "Yes" or "No," there could also be a "Rare Structures" option that greatly reduces the chance of structures generating.
