Sequoia Trees/Redwood Forest

I am a huge fan of stunning landscapes and beautiful sceneries in nature. That is why I thought of my favorite real world "biomes" to determine, what I want to suggest on this page. 
It didn't take long until the Redwood National Park in California came to my mind. This place is home to about 50% of all the remaining old-growth Coast Redwood Trees (Sequoias) in the world. These are considered the largest species of trees to exist nowadays.

My suggestions for a biome inspired by this would (obviously) be build around the idea of exceptionaly tall trees that are 2x2 blocks wide (or even 3x3 for some rare specimen?). To represent the worth of protecting old-growth trees, it would make sense to have Sequioas grown by using sapplings not be as tall as the naturally generated ones.

The ground could be a mix of coarse dirt and some type of rocks. Some areas could be covered with thicker brush.

As for animals, biome-fitting color variants of the usual animals would be great. If a biome-specific animal was to be added, the Roosevelt Elk is probably considered the "signature animal" of the Redwood National Park.
