Sinkholes in minecraft are exceptionally rare feature of terrain, occurring in Java from 1.18. to 1.19.2
It is a lake deep down to bedrock with a massive crater in the middle lined with stone, trees, grass or anether surface blocks appropriate for the biom with an utterly huge lava lake in the bottom. Sometimes structures makes this phenomen even more breathtaking
Removed in 1.19.2
Their rarity make them harmless for regular gameplay and they have big building potential. Part of the community, e.g. seedfinders would be very very grateful for their back
It appears when the climate noise map, known as "Weirdness" (responsible for rivers and valleys) have unusual value. This makes anomalous and amazing deep down to bedrock lakes. Actual sinkhole appear at Weirdness value around 1,8/-1,8 wich causes that terrain would genetate way below -64. The result is sinkhole described above
Examples:
seed: 121825627925 Next to spawn
seed: 1417239520764597857 Large biomes, coordinates: 23279520, 19468316 (the largest ever found)
If you want to know more, don't understand something or I didn't write somethink well, wach these films on YouTube (This isn't an advertisement, I'm not the pearson who made these. I am posting them here for effective communication)
