Since giant caves became a thing, minecraft landscapes look scarred and glitched. It's depressing looking back at old worlds and seeing how they looked compared with how now there are so many random crevices and unnatural block formations. Many good build spots need a layer of dirt over some of the area to cover up weird scars in the ground. We lose interest in worlds much quicker when we're not just building cool stuff, we're having to fix areas first to have a clean slate to work with. In addition, villages more often than not seem to look buggy with the landscape they're placed on.
