Slabs Update: More Slab Variants, Mixed Slabs, and Vertical Slabs

Minecraft’s building system would benefit massively from a slab update. Most blocks in the game should have slab variants, such as concrete slabs, log slabs, glass slabs, and many more. On top of that, slabs should be able to be combined. For example, a cobblestone slab could be placed on the bottom with an oak slab directly on top. Vertical slabs should also finally be added. Players have been asking for this feature for years, but Mojang has refused, saying that features like this would “limit creativity.” I don’t think that argument makes sense. If slabs really did limit creativity, why were they added in the first place? They expanded building possibilities, and these additions would do exactly the same. Minecraft is a game built around creativity, and giving builders more block combinations and shapes would only make the game better.
