Imagine a cave that occures near the surface but never at the surface, a large room or system with 2 types of magnetic rocks: red and blue. Why two instead of one? So new devices that can be used as transportation can be made. Lifting or moving side to side as the two blocks are naturally pulled to each other when placed and can pull magnetic blocks like metal, copper, or loadstone with it. All that's needed is for the magnetic block to be connected to the metal, then whatever block is placed with the metal block will be pulled with it. Gone will be the days of making a complicated sticky piston flying machine and now are the times of simplicity and creative building. Small note, these caves NEED to be near the surface because IRL, loadstone, which is a highly magnetic block, only occurs near the surface, but I Invision it to be underground, so when the player walks into the cave room, they see magnet blocks everywhere with magnetic blocks like raw iron or copper blocks being formed, clumped together because of the magnets. Maybe there could also be magnetic creatures that play with the magnets and thrive because of them, having magnetic arms, themselves, a neutral mob that doesn't attack unless attacked, pulling any weapons that are metallic or pulling armor from the player. There are so many possibilities with this idea, and I'd love to see what more you could make with this as a base. Have fun and good luck!
