I agree. If this is really a bug, it needs to be patched as soon as discovered. Hundreds of thousands of people have spent obscene amount of hours designing technical builds around this tech. Removing it essentially throws that time away. Think hundreds of thousands of hours wasted. This has been here for over a year; and no announcement has been made until now. This will drive players away from the game. Why don't we just remove redstone while we are at it.

If the intention is to "increase parity between the versions" then Bedrock Edition should not be the version that constantly loses excellent features like Arrow Killers.

When the ability to trade Nautilus Shells to Drowned for Tridents was removed, the Technical community worked to create new farms. But it was a deep disappointment to many of us that took great joy in the mechanic that was removed to make way for...what? There was no gain, only loss.

In comparison, Java can still build on the Nether roof. Mojang knows that removing that feature will result in countless players being upset, so they don't do it.

Arrow Killers, trading Tridents, etc... same thing. Bedrock deserves nice things too! Don't remove Arrow Killers to "fix" a bug that no one knew was a bug. Don't remove them to "increase parity" between the versions. Improve the game quality, don't nerf it.

I totally agree. Arrow killers, they're fast, they're cheap and they're great. And since Mojang has kept trident killers, why don't they keep arrow killers too? It's just another way of AFK killing mobs while still having experience to drop since the arrow is fired by the player. That's very illogical and I hope Mojang reverts this by next week.

this feature has been used since about three years iirc.
especially with very high througput farms.
if those farms would break, and the player didnt realise before they started the farn, their wold would be full of thousands of mobs in mere seconds.

as another comment mentioned, its the same thing like the neter roof on java. you wouldnt remove that would you? then dont remove features that are so widely used in bedrock.
    its just unfair.
java barely ever get java unique features removed, while bedrock gets nerfed over and over again

Arrow killers were a big part of many farms like ghast farms, fish farm, silverfish XP farm, which will now break because of this change. Trident killers do the same thing so why not arrow killers. As other people mentioned, stuff in Java like being able to build in the nether roof or TNT dupers are unique to Java and some bugs are features and barely remove those features while Bedrocks good features are constantly getting removed. Changes like these make the game worse and drive more people away from the game. Bedrock already has a bad reputation, don't make it worse.

    Keep them mojang!
Xp farms need them for low end devices because of the instant kill feature.
This will prevent sooo much lag

And plus, think of the community and versions! Java gets to build on the nether roof, use doors to breathe underwater and quasi conectivity! None of these will get removed so why remove bedrocks?

If you really want to remove it, also remove something good in Java like chunk loaders or give that to bedrock mojang!

This feature has existed for years. If you're doing it for parity, then offhand support must be removed from Java, building on the roof of the Nether must be removed from Java, and more. There are so many "features" used in Java, and yet Mojang only wants to remove the Bedrock ones! This is extremely wrong, especially since Bedrock is where Mojang receives the majority of its income, and Bedrock is literally funding the Java version.

Mojang Remove The Tnt dupe also from java if u can't then let's bedrock have its feature

If the intention is parity, let java have it too. Mobile, switch and other low end devices have to avoid things like guardian xp farms because the lag is too great. Especially on Realms where the world is weaker than a dedicated server. I like many others are tired of losing features that we rely on to enjoy the game. Java gets quasi connectivity, nether roof, tnt dupers, offhand support and more. Bedrock gets arrow/trident killers. And somehow it makes sense to further nerf Bedrock?

The bug has been utilised in many elaborate contraptions and farm is actually really useful among technical and non technical players removing this will cause an unnecessary mess upon the hundreds of farms that are based on arrow killers, thus removing arrow killers will cause more harm. For every type of player

Brojang thats unfair dude cmon.Even though you are just a side version, please don't remove this bug, just like TNT Duper Java, we also depend on this Arrow killer. Just think what consequences can happen.

Given the recent information about Microsoft's financials, and how Candy Crush and Minecraft are the only profitable games in their whole ecosystem, it seems pretty stupid to remove a feature from the most popular version of their most important game. It's not game breaking, it has VERY specific use cases, and honestly it's also pretty cool to use. TNT dupers, world eaters, Underwater doors, 2 multi-dimensional farms, the nether roof, etc are all FAR more OP than a mechanic that can only kill silverfish and regular fish.

    Please leave it.

The bug report MCPE-240473 has more information about this mechanic and why its useful, and the bug report MCPE-239756 is the issue that was fixed that inadvertantly broke arrow killer mechanics

I know arrow killers are seen as a parity bug by Mojang, but Java has lot's of gameplay differences that feel unintuitive and could ge considered a bug.

Fixing arrow killers is a big downgrade because they have been part of Bedrock for so long. Quasi-connectivity or nether roof building on Java presumably haven't been fixed for the same reason.

It's really unfair that parity seems to be unbalanced between the editions. It feels like Java gets to keep bugs as they become features, while on Bedrock similar things are patched out, and the bug-turned-to-features never make it to Bedrock. It doesn't help that Bedrock is still missing major vanilla features like the 1.9-style combat system and proper off-hand functionality.

Removing this feature is a lose-lose for Mojang and the players. I dont understand why this feature is decided to be removed because it is good to NO ONE.

Why is it when bedrock has a bug it's problem, but java bugs are all of a sudden features?

Arrows killer can't be removed, these will break many peoples farms detroying hours of work put into them.

Stop removing good features 😭 in java you guys keep the good bugs as feature and remove bad bugs BUT in bedrock you guys keep removing good bugs while keeping the bad bugs that actually makes game terrible 😞

Java has block spitting, quasi connectivity, zero ticking, access to odd game ticks, sand duping, tnt duping, building on the nether roof and more that I probably don’t know about. All of those are java “features” that are clearly bugs, so how come when bedrock has something that may or may not be a bug it has to get patched meanwhile java gets to keep all of these broken “features.”

This feature created an incentive to get tipped arrows which was otherwise overshadowed. We will not create “parity” between these two versions with small changes which put a middle finger up to Bedrock players, if they really wanted parity they would remove the nether roof from Java

Mojang, do not remove arrow killers. They are very useful to many players, and if you remove them it will make me and my friends sad. We have built several farms around the arrow killer, and it would remove the hours of work we put in as well as the usefulness of the farm. I am sure it would make more people upset as well, mostly including people who aren’t even on this site. If anyone who can influence this update reads this, please from the bottom of my heart do not remove arrow killers. Thanks for reading my comment.
