Shelf mushrooms as usable shelves

It would be amazing to have the ability to place things like candles flower pots and Lanterns on shelf mushroom blocks so that they actually act as shelves this would be such a cool feature

    An idea someone had is that the natural generation for the shelf mushroom is in the middle of the block, but when another block is placed above it’s position would shift to the top of the block as if it’s supporting the block above, whether it’s a flower pot, mob head, candle, or full block.

    Maybe it could also function as an item frame?
