The wither should destroy blocks as in not drop the blocks when broken

I was fighting the wither today and almost lost my entire world because the wither dug straight down and created thousands of entities by breaking blocks. It created so much lag to the point of freezing my game and I almost had to quit Minecraft which would’ve corrupted my world. I think the wither should just destroy the blocks entirely so that you can actually fight the wither properly without having to deal with so much lag
