Bedrock wither lag

The wither has cause my game to lag so often, to the point where I cant even begin to plan how to kill it. Why does it break down 40+ blocks?? In just a downward drop, 40 blocks down is 360 blocks broken and turned immediately into pick-upable items. DONT LET THE WITHER BREAK THE BLOCKS INTI ENTITY ITEMS
