Summary
After defeating the Ender Dragon and exploring the End, players can unlock a new portal system connecting the Nether and the End. This feature is designed for post-game exploration and does not affect speedrunning or the normal game progression.
How it works
- A rare Ancient End Portal generates inside certain Nether structures (such as Bastions or Nether Fortresses).
- It is inactive when first found.
- To activate it, players must collect items from the End, for example:
- Chorus Fruit
- Shulker Shells
- (Optional) Dragon's Breath or a new End-exclusive item.
Gameplay
- Players must first complete the normal progression:
Overworld → Nether → Overworld → End.
- Only after visiting the End can the portal be activated.
- Once activated, players can travel directly between the Nether and the End.
- Nether portals can also function inside the End after this unlock, creating a complete connection between all three dimensions.
Why this is balanced
- It does not make speedruns easier because players still have to reach the End through the normal route.
- It rewards players after completing the main game.
- It encourages more exploration of both the Nether and the End.
- It creates a stronger lore connection between Minecraft's dimensions.
This feature would make the End feel more complete while keeping Minecraft's progression balanced.
