With the new update to the speckled forests in Minecraft π and its new mushrooms, I thought: "Why not add other types of mushrooms and foods?" We know Minecraft will use the new mushroom as a soup ingredient, but it doesn't have a specific name, right? The other mushrooms in the game don't have specific names either; one is a hallucinogenic-style mushroom, and the other is just brown, so they could be any variety!
So, let's get to the point. Taking advantage of these autumnal forests, Mojang could add more efficient mushroom propagation and cultivation mechanics, similar to the Farmer's Delight mod. This would give the game a true autumn aesthetic and harvest-season vibe.
Additionally, it would be great to change the names of the existing mushrooms and add new ones for cultivation. I also suggest avoiding "Amanita" models, as they can look like typical poisonous mushrooms used for soup, potentially influencing people (especially children) to eat real-life wild mushrooms. This update would promote safety and awareness for the Minecraft community, offering an educational way to show how fungi are vital to the planet and highly varied, aside from their rich culinary uses worldwide.
