To make the AI Java-to-Rust translation engine cost-effective for Microsoft, we propose a sustainable "success-fee" model.

Running cloud AI to recompile complex code into native Rust consumes significant electricity and infrastructure. To ensure Microsoft covers costs without blocking indie creators, the model should work as follows:

    1. Free Entry: Translating a mod is entirely free upfront, removing financial risk for creators.
    2. AI Translation Fee: Once the translated mod is on the Marketplace and generates sales, Microsoft takes a temporary, small percentage (e.g., 2-5% in Minecoins) to reimburse the "energy debt" of the AI compilation.
    3. Full Profits: Once the specific translation cost is paid off, the extra fee stops, and the creator receives their standard revenue share.

Crucially, developers who write mods natively in Rust will NOT pay this translation fee. They only pay the standard platform tax used to fund marketplace hosting, anti-piracy tools, and console safety checks (preventing crashes or overheating). This creates a fair ecosystem that rewards native Rust optimization while offering a seamless bridge for the Java community.
