Minecraft's world generation has consistently been improved upon to better mirror the reality of the world's caves' cliffs, ravines and hills. There are many biomes that feel real and beautiful enough for players to immediately start building in, without spending ages editing the environment. The mountains, the taiga, the cherry blossoms and the tundra are some examples. These are prime locations for building because the environment resembles the beauty of the natural world. However, many biomes lag behind due to one key issue. The standard, boxey, oak and birch trees all but ruin otherwise useable biomes for a lot of experienced builders. Much of the player base holds their vegetation builds to a much higher standard than what already generates in the world by default. While these trees might hold in them a certain nostalgia for many players, it should be possible for experienced builders, who favour realism, to find a nice oak or birch biome to settle in without reinventing the entire biome every time. Modernizing the trees with some added realism might be a nice update in the future, or even just a feature of a larger update.
On a similar note, it may also be worth leaning further into the biodiversity that already exists in the game. Mojang has long championed environmentalist efforts by showing people the natural world within their game. Perhaps the jungle or similar biomes could include some palm trees or other tropical plants/species.
