Meerkats

Meerkats could spawn in the new dappled forest and old growth biomes. They could be tamed and can dig up items:
50% Gunpowder
25% Toxic Beetle
25% Toxic Root

You could use the toxic Root to brew a potion of Venetation, that gives you both nausea and poison

And you could put the toxic beetles as decoration or if you put enough, poison anyone.

They can also shed meerkat hide like turtles shed scute, and 9 of these could be used to craft kipskin, which can be used to craft kipskin armor, a tier above leather but below copper. Sure nobody would want it but it could look like a camouflage armor type. And you could also expand bundles with kipskin

Finally, meerkats could find fallen logs and shed extra meerkat hide, which allows kipskin farms

    Yessssss, but they should only spawn in deserts and plains near deserts, to mimic real life.
