The new dappled forest is beautiful and actually feels like a forest. This happens due to the larger trees. I also noticed that all of the modern trees are larger in size. Oak trees (and the small birch trees aswell) are basically only shrubs next to those new trees. Those oak forests feel wrong due to the tree size, at least when they are compared to other forests like the dappled forest or the cherry grove. This makes them feel out of place and ugly.
The idea is to increase the size of the oak tree canopy (increase the radius by 2 blocks as well as the height). The trunk of the tree would stay the same, except that it may be 1 block taller in average. The old oak trees may still spawn with a 10ish % chance to not completely delete those nostalgic trees. The large trees could also be overhauled by changing the trunk structure inside of the canopy to be easier to mine (maybe closer to the mangrove or cherry tree with those 90 degree turns). This would make them less frustrating.
Overall, Those changes would make the forest feel more forest-like while keeping nostalgia and keeping oak trees easy to chop down.
