I have an idea that connects the mid-game (Trial Chambers) with the end-game (The End) in a meaningful way, making the End dimension challenging and rewarding again.
1. New Mob: The Void Breeze (or Gale)
This is an End-variant of the Breeze found in Trial Chambers.
Instead of regular wind, it shoots kinetic/gravity projectiles. If it hits you, it bypasses regular Netherite knockback resistance and blasts you into the air or teleports you slightly. In the End, this makes them extremely dangerous as they can easily throw you into the void.
2. New Enchantment: Knockback Protection
To survive the Void Breeze, players must prepare. A new Enchantment Book called "Knockback Protection" can only be found as rare loot inside the Trial Chambers.
This enchantment directly counters the magical knockback of the Void Breeze, giving the Trial Chambers a huge purpose in the game's progression.
3. The Reward: Mending II
Defeating a Void Breeze drops a "Void Shard".
9 Void Shards can be crafted into an item called "The Void" (which uses a unique texture similar to the Barrier block and cannot be placed).
By combining 8 "Void" items and a regular book in a crafting table, players can finally craft Mending II (72 shards in total for one book).
Mending II would repair tools much faster per XP orb and prioritize the items with the lowest durability first, making it the ultimate end-game reward that villagers cannot exploit.
