I suggest adding a new brewing system involving a sulfur-related ingredient.
Using this, an Awkward Potion could be brewed into a Potion of Nausea. Then, if that Potion of Nausea is brewed again with a fermented spider eye, it upgrades into a new negative effect called Rotten Stomach.
Rotten Stomach would be a separate effect from Nausea and would cause strong disorientation along with a gameplay debuff where eating takes longer and food restores less hunger and saturation for a short time. It could also include subtle sulfur burp particle effects for visual feedback.
The goal of this effect is to add a new PvP strategy that weakens an opponent’s ability to heal through food without completely preventing eating or removing player control.
For balance, the effect would have a limited duration, require brewing setup to use, and could be countered with milk like other status effects.
This would expand potion progression and add more depth to combat while staying consistent with Minecraft’s existing brewing and status effect systems.
