The new Abandoned Camp structure is a fantastic addition, but it currently lacks environmental context. It feels like a random structure dropped into any biome. Despite it having a loot chest / barrel, the new camp can feel very empty. To fix this Mojang should introduce the Expeditioner mob, a rugged, nomadic villager variant that fixes Overworld lore in abandoned camps and has a few unique features.
An Expeditioner should have a low chance to spawn in an abandoned camp, a Pillager Outpost Cage, or a Prison Cell in a Woodland Mansion. Once found, the player can hire this mob using food or gold ingots / emeralds. The Expeditioner should be able to spawn wielding either a crossbow or an iron sword (randomly choose variant), and they should be hostile to any enemy mob they see.
The biggest feature of the Expeditioner is that they should wear a backpack and can fight for the player. While they are hired, the player can open this backpack to store extra blocks and items during long exploration trips. The Expeditioner should follow the player if they are hired and attack mobs hostile to the player.
If the Expeditioner dies, they can drop their backpack as an item. The player can then equip this backpack themselves to gain extra inventory space, perfectly solving the inventory management issue in Minecraft that is happening when more blocks are added to the game.
If you agree with this, please upvote to get this feature and mob noticed by the developers and Mojang.
Thank You.
