The Dappled Forest Looks Amazing… but Feels Incomplete

The Dappled Forest is beautiful. The poplar trees, autumn colors, and atmosphere are some of the best biome additions Minecraft has had in a long time.

My only issue is that it doesn't quite feel like a cozy autumn forest yet.

The forest floor feels too open, and compared to the regular Forest biome, there aren't enough layers beneath the trees, which makes large areas feel flat and empty despite how good it looks.

I think the biome would benefit from:

• More grass generation
• Slight grass color variation
• A second shrub variant or small autumn flower
• Occasional smaller poplar trees

The grass is the biggest thing for me. It blends into the orange ground cover so much that it barely stands out. This makes the floor feel flatter than it is. A little color variation and more grass would help break up the terrain and make it feel more alive.

Smaller poplar trees are also very important. Regular forests feel dense because they mix tree sizes. In the Dappled Forest, most trees are large, leaving open space underneath. Adding occasional smaller poplars would fill those gaps and make it denser, more natural, and cozier.

A small autumn flower or another shrub would help. The flower could be low, clustered blooms that don’t stand out too much but add ground detail, while the shrub could be a compact berry bush.

The Dappled Forest already looks amazing. It just needs a few more layers beneath the canopy to feel like the cozy autumn forest it’s meant to be.
