    The 30 second note block timer seems to preclude the use of the allay as more than a fun trick. The biggest use I can think for these mobs is in mining so they can pickup stone or other materials and get them out of your way. If they forget where to bring them after 30 seconds players will ultimately have to spend more time on keeping their companion mov working than on actually mining/building etc. Also the spawning may be better suited just to woodland mansions so the allay becomes more of a midgame companion and doesn't take the grind out of the progression.

    Transporting and managing allays should be easier, and note blocks should be more versatile and reliable.

    Making cookies act as a lure for them would make things so much easier, as would giving them "pauses" in their flying.

    Note blocks need a way to single out allays holding certain items or just certain allays in general, maybe by hitting the note block with a certain item in hand or something, idk

    The fact that note blocks can't discriminate by item makes using the allay as an alternative sorting system seem unlikely and the 30 second timer + the fact that they always follow the player when given an item makes me question using them as a collection system for farms too. Both things that were said to be possible during the mob vote.

    Having an empty handed stay/follow right click function similar to cats/dogs/parrots, with the exception that they can remember their "stay" point and still move to items/drop-off points if they can path to them, would mean they can be assigned to a farm and not require the player stand by.

    The last issue I see is how the allay actually drops its items, its messy and doesn't consistently drop the items in the one spot. Fixing would be as simple as just having them stop a set distance from the drop-off point answer dropping the items in a consistent arc onto the point.

    Still new favorite mob though

    I think once an allay is assigned to a note block it should stay at that note block unless you break the note block o something. I also think it would be cool if the vex model got updated to be similar to the allay as I think the current vex model isn’t that good and I feel like vex and allay are related to each other in some way.

    Here is a list of things I feel the Allay is currently missing.

    My list consists of mainly expression/adding more life to the Allay. I think the allay feels very lifeless lacking this list of things.

    Thing 1: Dancing

    In the Minecraft Mob Vote 2021, the Allay was displayed to dance when dropping off items at a noteblock.

    Thing 2: Sounds

    This one is almost definitely coming, but felt I would mention it anyways. They were displayed in the Mob Vote 2021, so I am not too worried.

    Thing 3: Different expressions / Custom dropping animation

    Also displayed in the Minecraft Mob Vote 2021, The allay would smile when dropping items. Without this, it feels quite lifeless. The Allay also does not have an animation for dropping items. I feel like this would be helpful for adding character to the mob.

    Okay overall I like the mod there’s only two things I’d add and change. One I’d have the allay spawn in the flower forest on the the new 1.18 mountains I believe that would be a perfect place for them as well. What i would change is the 10 seconds the lock one a note block not a fan of that I want to be able to mine and have the allay take my cobblestone back to base I can’t do that with a 10 second timer. I believe it should be like how the villager lock on to there workstations but obviously you have to tap the block for them to lock on. They should stay locked on to the note block unless you brake the note block and then place it down again after that the allay won’t be locked on to the note block for you to lock them onto it you tap the note block again. That’s all I would add and change for the allay. If I could choose between the two the timer is a bigger issue so that’s something I really want to see. Thank you for your time reading all this.     Add another item that calls/lure the Allay allowing to easily give items to them, this Item could be only obtain from Outposts or Mansions

    Currently it's difficult to work with, too rare, and not reliable enough. Trying to give allays an item on mobile touch controls is a nightmare. They can get stuck often, such as when trying to pick two items that are far apart. They sometimes pick and drop only one item at a time. If you take them to caves, they burn in lava. It needs to be more useful and spawns on meadows and forests at night, to get more. Having different-colored allays attaching to different noteblocks is needed, along with a longer or infinite noteblock attach-time until the block is gone.

    There's a worrying trend of non-renewables, such as ancient cities swift sneak, spore blossom, and now allays. While this encourages exploration, that's impossible to do on console and mobile due to disk space limitations. Renewability is important! Some exclusive stuff like pigstep is okay to encourage exploring that structure, but don't make structures like ancient cities too rare. Right now woodland mansions (and thus allays) are ridiculously rare, and people are likely to kill the allays. I'm against non-renewable mobs.

    I suggest a Community Update in the future, adding highly suggested ideas. Wolf skins and armor, fruit trees, ice caves, volcanoes, abandoned castles, pet dragons, cherry blossom forest... Dragons and castles fit well in the End Update. Some argue that dog skins are useless, but aesthetics are important in minecraft, they can also spawn on villages. Still waiting for hardcore mode on bedrock!

    I’ve been trying to use the allay for mining out large areas, but the second the allay gets too far away from its noteblock it just starts spitting items at me which is not ideal. It’s probably easier said than done, but I think the best thing for the allay right now is to figure out how it can have an increased range without it getting confused or hurting performance, and I can’t think of a solution just yet

    I think that the Allay needs to pass through blocks only after the player interact with him, also its like a spirit right? Why it drown and burn? That need to be changed, also triplicate the range of get items because it feels short and some way to find him easy and renovable, what about a trade to summon one of them with certain villager. All the other things about him are perfect, including his appearance.

    I think the Vex should be changed to have the same proportions/texture resolution that the Allay has, similar to how Zombie Pigmen were updated to match Piglins. Even they aren't intended to be connected, which the spawn location and design of the Allay seems to indicate, it still looks weird having two extremely visually similar mobs using two different resolutions and design guidelines.

    The allay isn't very accurate when throwing items to noteblocks. It's also a little too rare, so connecting it to the illagers more, or even just villagers would be cool.

    i) There should be a specific item such as music disk or something to lore Allay
    ii) Since their health is very low, they need something to increase their health, such as food.

    My Interactions with the Allay is cool and exciting to see being finally added to Minecraft, the problem was that the Allay sometimes stop their usual animation when flying, unfortunately, I don't have an evidence or a video to show the event, but it happened, TWICE.

    I suggest having a way to befriend an Allay before it follows you as a first encounter of the mob.

    The Allay collecting Item was good. No problems were encountered. But again, the Allay stopping it's animation for no reason is so far my first bug I encountered with the Allay.

    The Interaction of the Allay with noteblocks are cute and amazing! Again, no problems were encounter during the observation of the Interaction, but I personally was hoping to see the Allay flying more happily when playing noteblocks (not necessarily needed, only a suggestion).

    Conclusion: A Perfect Addition to minecraft, I only encountered one bug which is the Allay stopping it's animation when flying (Unfortunately I was recording nor was planning to so I have no evidence), This addition is great and I love it. Amazing work Devs!

    Vex should attack allay because all players would agree that allay looks like an enemy to vex.

    The allay needs to stay connected to its note block and have a way for it to stay in one area rather than follow the player all the time.

    Also need a way to breed it and/or more spawning areas.

    They catch fire too easily from being near fire or lava.

    Allay needs to have less chaotic movement when interacting with player and noteblock. There should be also way to lure allay (goat horn?)so it follows the player if they want to. Currently allay is too unpredictable to be useful.

    Please fix the issue where an Allay comes back to pick up an item it threw near a noteblock. Make it so that the Allay won't go back and pick up an item which it has been thrown from it's inventory once UNLESS if a player were to interact with a noteblock once again.

    Each time you play a noteblock, the allay should be bound/unbound to the noteblock.
    It shouldn't stop being bound to a noteblock unless you (you the player, not a redstone signal) play a note again.
    (The current time limit system seems mostly annoying.)

    It also shouldn't constantly drop blocks to you. If it's holding any amount of blocks, you should always have to right click the allay to get the blocks back.
    The point of allay is to aid in storage/sorting, so it's annoying that the allay just gives the blocks back to you.

    The max amount of items should be a stack for stackables and 4 for non-stackables.

    Others have already suggested this outside of this one post, but vexes should be able to be converted into allays.

    When I first saw an Allay, the first thoughts that came to my mind are how it's very similar to Vex and other pillagers. It gives us an idea about Vex's origin. At the same time it gave me the curiosity if Allays can also pick up sword or attack it's enemies like a Vex would do. If it's capable of fighting or in combat, then that would make even more sense to why the Pillagers capture these Allays and convert them to Vex to fight for them. Since it's the polar opposite of a Vex, it's obviously sided with the good and harmless mobs like Villagers I assume.

    Also another idea is, similar to how Evokers summon Vex, summoning Allays through some method would be cool idea.

    It's just some of the ideas that came to my mind when I first saw an Allay.

    Allay in current state is pretty useless, it needs to be able to set as a permanent location, without that the whole mob is not viable.

    Different allays could use different sounding noteblocks, I.e sand or glass under, so they respond to a specific sound

    They could use the goat horn for a follow / stay / free command.

    They should be more accurate with drop location, perhaps a 'pick up items of type x' so you can sort "tools" instead of only specific WOODEN SHOVEL.'

    It would be best if they would return and sit on the noteblock, until items are picked up, for better access

    They need to be breedable, so they you can make more of them. Another option, considering Vex seems to be the spirit of a fallen illager, perhaps a allay could be the spirit of a fallen villager, so you could automate, with a zombie/villager to get allays

    Only having woodland mansion does make exploration a thing, but woodland mansion is too rare to be the ONLY location, I've had worlds where I had to walk 10-20.000 blocks just to find the nearest one.

    Again, let me be very clear on this; Allay NEEDS to be able to permanently be stationed to a location or IT WILL become the next useless mob, like the phantom. I'm sorry if it sounds crude, but its important to get it across.
    (And no, restone repeating the note is NOT viable, when you have multiple allays sorting items, because they will all start sorting into the same hopper, and then the allay is just a glorified hopper anyway.

    I think it would be a good idea to trigger a different behaviour depending on the instrument of the noteblock. This would make them much more manageable and versatile in a cool way
    - stay put near note block
    - deposit here for 30 sec
    - deposit here 1 item
    - deposit here forever
    - dance
    - do the flop
    - etc.

    They need their own block rather than a noteblock, have them path away from lava and seeing as they are ethereal the player should not be able to hit them unless it's with a specific tool. Maybe you could also give their texture some transparency.

    Ability to click on a chest/barrel and the Allay will search for items that are within.
