The all time food expansion update!

Now that Minecraft is coming out with the new dappled forest, I would like to see new crops added to the game. This is the perfect time! How long has it been since we've had actual normal food added to Minecraft?, I'm not talking about glow berries either. We need real, growing, and obtainable crops. More berries, grains and wheats, fruits and vegetables. It would add so much more to minecraft, especially in certain biomes. Rice, tomatoes, new food ideas you can mix together and make meals, similar to how you can make soups.
