I would like to suggest a new Physics API for Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
Currently, add-on creators have very limited control over entity physics. Most advanced movement systems require teleportation or complex workarounds, making realistic vehicles and machines difficult to create.
A Physics API would allow creators to apply real physical forces instead of manually moving entities.
Suggested features:
- Apply forces, velocity and acceleration to entities.
- Control rotation, torque and angular velocity.
- Configure mass, gravity and friction.
- Detect collisions and receive collision events.
- Support constraints and joints between entities.
- Allow buoyancy for boats and floating structures.
- Support custom suspension systems for wheeled vehicles.
This API would enable realistic cars, trucks, trains, aircraft, boats, helicopters, spacecraft, construction machines and many other creations while improving performance and reducing the need for complex scripting workarounds.
Providing official physics controls would greatly expand the possibilities of Minecraft Bedrock add-ons and encourage more advanced creations from the community.
