Implementing External AI Companions via Player-Owned Apps in Minecraft

Hi Minecraft Team, I am writing to suggest a new feature that would significantly enhance the single-player experience: AI-Powered Companions. Playing solo can often feel isolated, and there is currently no way to have a dynamic, intelligent companion in the game. I propose that Minecraft introduces an official API or feature that allows players to connect their own mobile AI applications directly to an in-game NPC. Mojang would not need to develop or host the AI model themselves. Instead, players should be able to integrate ready-to-use AI models already installed on their phones, such as Gemini, ChatGPT, or Copilot. An AI companion utilizing these external models could read the game state and join the world as a custom character. This NPC could interact with the player, help with basic tasks, or simply act as a partner in survival. This addition would completely transform the solo experience by adding a layer of intelligence and companionship that Minecraft currently lacks.
