Enchanting needs a massive reworking. Enchanting can be a massive headache for getting the specific enchant you want considering it is all RNG based, and combining lower tier books is practically useless due to the “Too Expensive” on the anvil, this could be fixed by just getting rid of “Too Expensive”.. after all it is a sandbox game. Also, Im mot saying to add the Villager Trade Rebalancing, at least in the way it is right now.
Villager Trade rebalancing right now is biome specific trades. For example, mending will be the master lever trade in swamps. I agree this does encourage exploration, and can make more opportunities for different bases, but imagine your swamp base being 5000 blocks away from your main base? That would get tiring to travel to and from pretty quickly even with elytra.
So what if it was changed to similar to the enchantment table, the more books around a lectern made the villager have higher level trades? Basically getting rid of the Sharpness I’s that bloat the inventory of the villagers. Or maybe something like you write the enchantment you want in a book and quill and put it in the lectern, spend a reasonable amount of XP, and then you have the enchantment you want?
I know a counterpoint to this is that it would be extremely easy to get the certain enchantment you want, but do you really think breaking and replacing a lectern is hard to do? If anything it’s just time consuming.
I really hope Mojang reworks this.
