Copper golems could be massively improved functionally by creating an order of operations for them. Nearly a year after their release, I have yet to see a sorting system that uses copper golems that is without issue. I won't go into what these issues are, but all of them that I can think of could be solved by adding order of operations.
So first is for retrieving items. If a golem has pathfinding access to multiple copper chests, the golem prioritizes by retrieving items from copper chests with the same level of oxidation as the golem. The waxed state does not impact the order of operations. I could give additional detail to order of operations beyond this, but the most impactful for retrieving items would be to have the ability to assign copper chests to golumns using the oxidation state. This would open up a lot more opportunities to use copper golems in new ways, as you could assign copper golems to different sections of storage on the input.
Now, for the most meaningful change, checking chests to dump items. Here is what I would propose: regular chest double, regular chest single, trapped chest double, trapped chest single. Having this would massively fix unreliable sorting systems, as you could consistently have a golems check all main storage chests before moving on to an overflow/re-routing system. There are other uses for this as well as general item sorting, too, since you can control the direction items flow by using an understandable order of operations.
