Revert the 26.2-pre-2 changes on Attribute Swapping

On the latest snapshot you can no longer quickly swap from one item to another and retain its attributes/use case. This change not only patched PvP techniques (breach swapping, lunge swapping, ...) used by tens if not hundreds of thousands of players, but it also makes performing actions quickly much more difficult.

For example, a use case of the previous item switching system was a technique often referred to as 'Breach Swapping'. By holding a fully charged Netherite Sword with an attribute of 8 attack damage you would quickly switch to a Mace with the Breach IV enchantment and click. What this would do is take the attack damage of the sword and practically apply it to the Mace, making the Mace deal the sword's damage while retaining its properties of performing smash attacks and being enchanted with breach.

This 'bug' is no longer simply an error in the game's code, as its been in the game for so long that it has been accepted by players as a staple of the game rather than a problem that needs to be fixed.

This still stands after 26.2-pre-3, since they claim that Attribute Swapping will be patched in future snapshots.

    For the peoppe saying It's too game breaking, every pvp is gone without this except only sword. It's not only that you can't breach swap, you can slo not perform actuons quickly like placing cobwebs or exploding crystals. You need forever to break a shield and in that time the opponent can just unrightclick their shield.
    Insta carting doesnt work, whole tnt-minecraft pvp is cooked. Minecraft will be split ibto servers with plugins for attribute swapping and servers without

    Mojang can you please not get rid off attribute swapping because there is so many features before that was a bug and it is now in the game and I feel like to us pvp players it is like a normal mechanic in the game and by taking this away it takes away what we built over the years and it would be nice to keep to us pvpers.

    I honeslty only play minecraft for the pvp, I would play the story from time to time or make a server with friend or even play a world if i’m bored, but i can assure you that, having attribute swapping dosent change any aspect in that sense. however in the role of pvp, where over millions of players specifically play minecraft for, this is a devastating change, which will ruin the gameplay and potentially the community forever. Please minecraft and mojang developers, please take time to reconsider this decision.

    if this is added please end me and make it swift, this RUINS ALL FORMS OF PVP, and makes average day to day playing feel janky and like crap, holy will it ruin EVERYTHING, speedrunning, pvp, omg this basically ruins minecraft

    It's honestly a horrible feature. Mojang has bigger problems to handle but attribute swapping is not a part of any abused bugs or overused in normal survival world. It hugely effects the pvp community and may take a great effect on normal minecraft aswell because many people play competitive minecraft. Also update BEDROCK ASWELL.

    i love mace but this completely ruins it .
    the only reason im using spear is because of attribute swapping .
    mojng please dont remove this .I spent hundreds of hours learning this .

    Agree this needs to be fixed. It’s not even about lunge dashing or breach swapping, it’s about the fact this breaks so many core mechanics for pvp, shield disabling, pearl catching, etc.

    Please keep this bug, it is a key feature to minecraft pvp and removing it would cause servers to develop plugins to revert this change anyway

    This is ridiculous. Mojang, REVERT this change. The PvP landscape requires this; if you remove attribute swapping, you are ruining your PvP players, leading to potential quitters. Its common sense, so please revert the change!

    I dont like attribute swap i think its a glitch that makes pvp much more unskilled BUT they took removing attrovite swap by a bit too far because i dont think it should affect blocks or either make it way less affective.

    Bro I just can’t play mc anymore if they don’t add back attribute swapping it’s bin carrying most of mc PvP for the past few years and it’s not a bug anymore it’s part of the game if they remove it ima have to quit Minecraft

    Remeber the multiplayer area is already small. After this its dying 110%.Keeping this is only way you can keep the pvpers) playing is to remove this

    I am a pvp player and so this is really weird its been in the game like over 2 years and now they are fixing it. this is a bug yes but in minecraft they were so many bugs and they are deleting only this bug if they not fix this as well im probably not play the new 26.2 so please vote out and mojang will hopefully fix

    PvP is one of the few things that keep me coming back to the game, and honestly, I really liked the spear, even if I wasn't using it properly. It doesn't affect casual players, so why take it away from us?

    Attribute swapping is the only thing making the spear fun in any way in my opinion, also mace will just be jumping and trying to get a hit - it will become so noskill and so many thechniques we spent hours mastering will get patched

    it sinker it to minecraft pvp its not only mace pvp that gets affected, stunning is one of the hardest part to master in mc pvp and we cant even do it fast now and cart pvp u cant insta cart so whats the point of cart in that situation
