Revert the 26.2-pre-2 changes on Attribute Swapping

On the latest snapshot you can no longer quickly swap from one item to another and retain its attributes/use case. This change not only patched PvP techniques (breach swapping, lunge swapping, ...) used by tens if not hundreds of thousands of players, but it also makes performing actions quickly much more difficult.

For example, a use case of the previous item switching system was a technique often referred to as 'Breach Swapping'. By holding a fully charged Netherite Sword with an attribute of 8 attack damage you would quickly switch to a Mace with the Breach IV enchantment and click. What this would do is take the attack damage of the sword and practically apply it to the Mace, making the Mace deal the sword's damage while retaining its properties of performing smash attacks and being enchanted with breach.

This 'bug' is no longer simply an error in the game's code, as its been in the game for so long that it has been accepted by players as a staple of the game rather than a problem that needs to be fixed.

This still stands after 26.2-pre-3, since they claim that Attribute Swapping will be patched in future snapshots.

    All pvp will be gone completely if you decide to delete this feature,i am a pvper my self amd it will affect all the strategy and Minecraft will just be a 1 play only i wish we could bring back attribute swapping

    Hey Mojang, as PvPer myself over the past year of me playing this game I think the best aspect to it was attribute swapping, although it may be considered a glitch attribute swapping revolutionised pvp and ultimately made it more enjoyable to the community, effectively treating it like a regular feature of PvP. Removing this can result in major damage to the community itself, including me that's why I think it should be in your best interest to keep it for us.

    Terrible update don’t add it this ruins the purpose or the mace and spear and also makes PvP not like PvP anymore

    Y'all should consider that it's for the better cause, making Minecraft more "vanilla". We actually didn't really have a meaningful defense for them not removing this.

    That's just my another perspective of the situation, I kinda netral, but I will vote because I feel like it

    Attribute swapping is a BUG. Not a feature. Imo you were never intended to carry over attributes from one item to another. It breaks game balance. Mojang pls remake the PvP system, rather than just reverting things to the way they were before (like u did with parkour).

    Attribute Swapping increased the skill ceiling. And also by removing it, every pvp kit except sword gets ruined. A great example is SMP, changing attribute swapping ruined the quick stuns which made the kit skillful as a random newbie cant just do it in 30 minutes of first playing. Another is cart pvp, it ruined it by needing to put the cart in the offhand. This causes alot of the playerbase to be unhappy. Tnaks

    attribute swapping is basically the critting of spearmace, not to mention it is also vital in every other gamemodes aswell. this update might cause the same controversies as the 1.8 update did and pvp is more massive right now than back then so alot of players might actually leave

    This just affects in every pvp mode that we do you just basically crippled us all attribute swapping was such a fun thing to do now you just gotta take that away from us Why you dont you guys actually have a end update instead of removing an actual fun thing in pvp

    Bro if tnt duping and the nether roof are still in the game there is no argument that says attribute swapping should be removed.

    This removal is going to ruin minecrafts combat as attribute swapping has increased the pvp skill level as many techniques has been built around it like breach swapping shield stunning and spear mace and as players spend time learning these just for it to be removed so i hope this can be added back as this is a skilled advanced mechanic.

    I am personally a high tier PvPer that uses attribute swapping and I agree that it should be re-added to the game. If a bug has been used for years, it is treated like a game feature instead of a bug.

    Genuinely revert this. Attribute swapping has become a huge part of modern pvp. It is used in virtually every pvp game mode in some way or another. This change drastically reduces the skill ceiling for pvp.      ( Also anyone saying to keep the change lowk js mad they can't attribute swap fr )

    Attribute swapping is such an important, skillful and fun-to-use element of Minecraft. To remove it is to dramatically reduce the skill ceiling, and thereby player interest, in the game. Please revert this change ASAP.
