Revert the 26.2-pre-2 changes on Attribute Swapping

On the latest snapshot you can no longer quickly swap from one item to another and retain its attributes/use case. This change not only patched PvP techniques (breach swapping, lunge swapping, ...) used by tens if not hundreds of thousands of players, but it also makes performing actions quickly much more difficult.

For example, a use case of the previous item switching system was a technique often referred to as 'Breach Swapping'. By holding a fully charged Netherite Sword with an attribute of 8 attack damage you would quickly switch to a Mace with the Breach IV enchantment and click. What this would do is take the attack damage of the sword and practically apply it to the Mace, making the Mace deal the sword's damage while retaining its properties of performing smash attacks and being enchanted with breach.

This 'bug' is no longer simply an error in the game's code, as its been in the game for so long that it has been accepted by players as a staple of the game rather than a problem that needs to be fixed.

This still stands after 26.2-pre-3, since they claim that Attribute Swapping will be patched in future snapshots.

    This mechanic only added a higher skill ceiling for pvp. It added more depth to mace, spears, and other gamemodes and is essential to them. Attribute swapping forced you to have to play harder, using hotkeys to be able to put skill your opponents and enriched pvp. Without it, fights would feel a lot more boring and unintuitive, and entire gamemodes would be either gone or heavily changed. People, including me, who learned and even mastered this technique feel deeply frustrated as they poured countless hours learning this technique.

    This will make many people quit Minecraft as a whole because of this change, this change will break all of Minecraft PvP

    Attribute Swapping has become an integral part of Minecraft PVP. Removing it would only harm current pvpers and would not affect casual players positively whatsoever.

    While this feature may not have ever been intended to be in the game, this does not mean that removing it is a good or justified idea. Not all bug patches are needed, what's more important is that the players most affected by these changes have a chance to speak out.

    This is basicly a part of minecraft, removing this is like removing PVP and people worked really hard to practice this kind of stuff like stunt slamming, removing this will effect the game 100% in a bad way and also for the players.

    while I think breach swapping has to go and the spear needs some balancing, where overall just better with attribute swapping in the game, without it crystal pvp wont even work and the meta would  be shield camping so I really hope this gets fixed!

    Removing attribute swapping might be the worst decision ever. This effectively cripples areas of mace pvp and also practically disables spear mace as a thing.

    I don’t even PvP but removing this is so stupid, lunge swapping is genuinely the best movement before you can get an elytra, it’s been in the game so long for it to be removed

    This bug should be reverted. Today, Minecraft fixed it, but this bug has been in the game for almost 13 years. Players have come to consider it a core part of the game, and it is also a major part of Minecraft PvP. With this change, the PvP community could be seriously affected, as many game modes would no longer work as intended.

    We ask Mojang to revert this change.

Especially PvP, without attribute swapping almost all of the higher skill techniques would get removed and the general skill ceiling and fun of that aspect of minecraft would be significantly lowered.     Attribute swapping has been in the game for so long that removing it would actively hurt the game.     Attribute swapping is a core of many of the key pvp mechanics across competitive minecraft game modes for servers and multi-player and for vanilla pvp. While it originated as a bug it is now widely accepted as a feature and patching it would remove skilled and fun elements of minecrafts combat system, forcing another situation where players are forced to play an older version like 1.8
