This new thing that removes attribute swapping ruins PvP in Minecraft

Agreed. This NEEDS to be switched back. this renders the whole spear-mace pvp gamemode useless. stunslams are off, breach swap doesnt work. spear dash doesnt work. this is easily the worst "fix" ever. Minecraft usually keeps bugs that people like in. look at the minecraft mascot. the creeper was born from a mistake in the code. please change this back

i dont agree. its a bug and was a bug. just because you used it doesnt mean its not a bug

If this is not reverted, this would completely wreck and ruin so many different combat styles, this update basically destroys pvp.

yeah idc if it was a bug. this is genuinely a feature everyone wants and is critical to modern pvp. also bring back stuns as well [being able to hit someone immediately after disabling their shield without a delay where they are unhittable] cause thats very critical as well

With this change the competitive 1.9 pvp community would completely lose 10% of all techniques currently invented (prob more) this change and can revamp a scene that is nearly mainstream minecraft at this point. We know mojang is somewhat trying to help everyone all at once it just doesnt effect anything or much at all outside of pvp so there is simply no reasoning in removing a so called "bug" which only badly effects 10 to hundreds of thousands of players.

Attribute Swapping has become such a Large feature of the Game, PvP or not, that it shoudlnt be counted as a "Bug", instead as a feature.

If it HAS to be removed, there should be some alternative to it that isn't a bug. I would rather this stay in the game as a feature though.

Literally a whole gamemode is removed by this by the way, Spear Mace.

This wouldn't just ruin PvP, the entirety of the Minecraft community uses attribute swapping in some way such as when swapping to and using an item in the same tick. With this change it'll take 50ms after switching to an item before you can use it. The implications of this is that you can switch to a block and right click within 50ms and it will use the item in the previous hotbar slot you swapped from. Effectively adding a 50ms delay to nearly every action taken.

If mojang wants to remove it, they should make it a gamerule, players have sunk hours into learning how to use this technique and mojang is just removing it.

Previously, 45° strafing had also been in a similair situation. The quote on quote "bug" of being able to move ever so slightly faster by moving in a 45° angle had been patched out of the game in a snapshot. A similar petition was put up because it would essentially ruin a huge part of what made minecraft's parkour mechanics so interesting. I believe attribute swapping should be treated the same as it has been and still is a big part of what makes PvP interesting too. It's not because it was started off as a bug that it should be removed from the game.

This "bug" has already integrated itself into pvp so much, it can be considered a feature. Removing it kinda does nothing good while it completelly ruins half of the kits. PvP is a major part of the mc community so it should definitelly be acknowledged while making this decision.

To be honest, I don't think that doing this is worth angering one of the fastest growing communities in all of minecraft. The pvp scene has been tinkering with so many different aspects of the game to improve, and one of these aspects is attribute swapping. It has gotten to the point that it is commonplace in basically all gameplay, from tierlists to smps and more. Simply put, this is going to affect practically everyone who plays multiplayer in a negative way, so for the sake of your game, revert the change.
