Revert the 26.2-pre-2 changes on Attribute Swapping

On the latest snapshot you can no longer quickly swap from one item to another and retain its attributes/use case. This change not only patched PvP techniques (breach swapping, lunge swapping, ...) used by tens if not hundreds of thousands of players, but it also makes performing actions quickly much more difficult.

For example, a use case of the previous item switching system was a technique often referred to as 'Breach Swapping'. By holding a fully charged Netherite Sword with an attribute of 8 attack damage you would quickly switch to a Mace with the Breach IV enchantment and click. What this would do is take the attack damage of the sword and practically apply it to the Mace, making the Mace deal the sword's damage while retaining its properties of performing smash attacks and being enchanted with breach.

This 'bug' is no longer simply an error in the game's code, as its been in the game for so long that it has been accepted by players as a staple of the game rather than a problem that needs to be fixed.

This still stands after 26.2-pre-3, since they claim that Attribute Swapping will be patched in future snapshots.

    dont remove attripute swapping it heavily affects minecraft pvp and its just nice hitting a stun slam and stuff

    Why did they leave it there for so long, allowing people to get used to it? They should have removed it as soon as it was discovered. Now that people are comfortable, they should stop swapping. The community after this patch will simply disappear little by little, just like it did in version 1.8; this was a necessary core within the community. DO NOT REMOVE THIS

    this getting removed will make a lot of people angry and almost completely ruin the concept of mace pvp as its known even spear mace and it will make it no where near as fun as it once was

    I genuinely have no clue what was going through the minecraft devs mids when they decided to patch this because some people have completely built their careers around pvp and some of them being manepear and ayylamar decided to practice spear-mace which is now fully impossible due to attribute swapping being patched and they won't be able to continue making content and it will be much more difficult for them to make money with it removed, this dumb decision affects hundreds of thousands of players in the pvp community and some people have spent years mastering it to reach high tier 1 like khalih mortimer in attribute swapping based gamemodes just for it to get patched. I think that some people honestly might quit minecraft altogether because of this. I really hope that mojang or microsoft reads my post and decides to add attribute swapping back because it makes the game so much more enjoyable. And if you read any of the posts that are anti-attribute swapping it's only because those people are so buns at the game that they can't figure out how to do something that I was able to do very consistently after only playing minecraft java edition for one hour not to mention minecraft on a computer for one hour because before then I played on switch until it broke. so please re-add attribute swapping because it affects so many people and I have spent a good 10 minutes typing this and I would really appreciate if it weren't for nothing

    26.2-
    New structure-abandoned camp
    New item-hay bed, wool stairs and slabs
    New biome. They destroyed the game itself with the sulfur caves and now with this
    Attribute swap fix-ITS NOT A BUG AND YOUR GAME WILL FALL OFF MOJANG! REVERT THE CHANGE!

    Removing a mechanic that an entire community has developed and practiced is not a good idea. If TNT duping and bedrock breaking, both of which are also not used by the majority of players, were not removed, why remove attribute swapping?

    I can say that attribute swapping has become such a norm in my pvp, and honestly just moving around in survival worlds with my spear. I would be very sad to see attribute swapping go

    Some of the pvp gamemodes mainly the ones using mace would be ruined if this change happend, and there is no downside to this so please revert this and make attribute swapping possible.

    This feature has become a key pillar for PvP and removing also removes the use of more than half of the advanced PvP techniques (shield disabling, spear lunging, breach swapping, and even just trying to mace itself) if Minecraft wants to remove this so called bug then they might as well remove the mace and spear entirely and players will have to go back to boring sword fights and the only advanced style would be cart PvP. This change would become almost as big as the 1.9 PvP change.

    I also really like lunging around my worlds because it's fun and quick because on some servers with scheduled end fights you want a way to get around fast, but you can't elytra, so if you don't have a trident or there isn't much water around then you would want to lunge, but now it will be so much slower because attribute swapping is being removed.

    Attribute swapping GREATLY increased the skill ceiling for PvP. This was a feature that made the game way faster and more fun. It NEVER should have been "patched." This absolutely RUINS Minecraft PvP. If the change doesn't get reverted, I might just quit the game and try something else.
