I hear everyone complaining about the bane of arthropods but lets say i have a solution for it… Enter the arachnid nest, after the 3rd game drop of 2026 was revealed about the dappled forest i immediately thought how can i make it more interesting, my idea is adding arachnid spider nests under the biome and the way to enter is by intentionally or accidentally walking on a leaf pile which is a reskinned of the layered snow and also acts as powdered snow meaning you fall directly onto the trap which sometimes is hiding cobwebs under it. The arachnids are a variant of the spider but is 2x the size of it and is orange color, the result of evolution to adapt to the biome. The nest has an entrance chamber which the player falls to at first and has tunnels mimicking branches connecting different chambers, for now there is no spider-queen yet. And to avoid falling into the nest you have to wear leather boots. Another thing why not make an arachnid scout reveal itself only at sunrise and sunset so it can stay camouflaged and unseen by its preys. Practically not all leaf piles have nests under it, its only a rare but sometimes uncommon chance, to get more leaf piles manually you destroyed tree leaves of that new tree which drops fallen leaves and to craft the pile you have to use 2 of it and the rarity of getting the leves are common but not always garunteed.
