Hello Mojang and Minecraft Community!
We all love the new touch controls added in recent updates, but mobile players still face a huge problem: we don't have full parity with Java Edition for the off-hand (left hand). Double-tapping crouch to use a shield or place torches is uncomfortable, slow, and hurts PvP/survival gameplay on phones.
Since the Bedrock engine can handle custom buttons (like the new "block pick" button and advanced touch settings), it is time to add a dedicated "Off-hand Action Button" to the mobile UI.
Here is how it can work perfectly without cluttering the screen:
1. Toggleable in Settings: Players can enable or disable this button in the touch control settings.
2. The Balance ("Hand Fatigue"): To prevent spamming or accidental clicks, the off-hand button could have a minor cooldown or a "hold duration" for holding up shields, making mobile PvP fair and balanced.
Mojang has proven that the Bedrock engine is incredibly advanced. It can handle thousands of tropical fish variants, trillions of banner combinations, and heavily optimized deferred lighting (which works so much better now in 1.26!). Adding one toggleable button for the off-hand is definitely possible and will make mobile players happy.
Please support this idea so we can finally have true off-hand parity on mobile!
