Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Sponges and Sponge Sulfur Cubes should dry naturally over time

Placed down sponges should dry naturally over time taking a long time to do so, this process could be accelerated when on top of magma blocks or in hot biomes. The Sponge Sulfur cube could then also take over this behaviour. This would make it redstone contraptions to clean vast areas of water to be possible, making the process less annoying, but still rewarding.
