As well as giving players effects like poison, nausea and other debuffs, the negative effects beacon can be useful with effects like mining fatigue and building fatigue (new effect) These can be used to protect bases and also aid in generated boss fights (especially since players can break dungeons). But to utilize a negative effects beacon should require special components such as the heart of a guardian, a swamp monsters fang, a giant scorpion stinger, dragons breath (instead of diamond, iron, emerald etc). The beacon is a double edged sword, it can serve you and it can hurt you.
